Equity Financing - Share Consideration - Pre-IPO Approach - Angel Investors - Venture Capital

When undertaking any form of corporate financing, it pays to undertake intelligent long-term planning, whether its with respect to the company's eventual initial public offering, sale or otherwise. Simply envisioning the end-goal, without laying the groundwork for its pursuit and the roadmap through which it can be achieved.

Unfortunately, far too many companies simply confer shares in the capital stock of the company without due consideration or take actions that are not beneficial to the advancement of the company to the Initial Public Offering (IPO) stage. Instead, the long-term must be properly considering, in particular aspects of associated with the issuance share equity, otherwise the business will find itself seriously constrained in its future pursuits.

The key is to work on developing such a plan and having the structure in place to implement such a plan, and where necessary have the adaptability to make adjustments, when and where needed. To make this possible, the legal and contractual arrangements at the outset need to have been properly orchestrated; otherwise, radical initiatives (i.e., an initil public offering, the sale of the business) will be far more costly and difficult to achieve. And it is for that reason, that appropriate legal counsel be retained to provide that essential element when it comes to the law and contracts, which are so important to any business venture seeking to realize its potential.
